We are proud to announce that effective today, Alison Mangiero has been appointed Executive Director of the Proof of Stake Alliance (POSA). An experienced leader in both the business and policy worlds, Alison has been our acting Executive Director for months now and we are extremely pleased to make it official!

Alison has been a part of POSA since its founding in 2019 and has been involved in our most exciting initiatives, from our first lobby day in 2019 to the filing of Josh Jarrett’s suit.

“As one of POSA’s first supporters, Alison’s commitment has helped make POSA what it is today,” said Evan Weiss, POSA Founder, Board Member and Head of Business Operations at Coinbase Cloud. “There’s no one better to lead this organization into the future, and we’re all excited to see Alison’s title reflect the hard work she continues to dedicate to the organization.”

In addition to her involvement with POSA, Alison previously founded Tocqueville Group (TQ), which worked with partners in the Tezos ecosystem to build new ventures, products, open source software, and other public goods for the Tezos community. She has spent over a decade in public policy and academia as a political scientist, and has broad experience fundraising and growing membership associations.

Alison is also a passionate advocate of the liberal arts and teaches courses on Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Public Policy at the College of the Holy Cross and serves on the Executive Board of Advisors for the University of Richmond's Jepson School of Leadership Studies.

“I’m excited to officially be named POSA’s Executive Director and continue working everyday to allow proof-of-stake technology to flourish,” said Alison. “We’re at a critical moment in deciding how digital assets will be regulated. With millions of people and billions of dollars in value currently involved in proof-of-stake ecosystems, there’s a clear need for a group focused explicitly on educating leaders about staking and proof-of-stake technology. I’m grateful to lead POSA as we work to ensure forward-thinking laws allow us to build a more innovative future and ensure these new technologies can benefit the most people.”
